Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.
We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented FEA (Finite Element Analysis) Engineer to join our product design engineering team. You will be responsible for performing structural and dynamic simulations to optimize the design and performance of our wearable devices. Your work will directly impact the reliability, durability, and user comfort of our products.
What You will do:
- FEA Modeling: Develop and validate FEA models of components and assemblies using appropriate software (e.g., Altair, ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Structural Analysis: Perform linear and non-linear static and dynamic analyses to evaluate stress, strain, and deformation under various loading conditions
- Drop Test Simulation: Simulate drop test scenarios to evaluate product robustness and identify potential failure points.
- Optimization: Proactively identify potential mechanical risks and areas for optimization through simulation.
- Correlation: Help drive correlation of FEA results with physical test data to validate models and improve accuracy.
- Documentation: Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing FEA results and recommendations.
- Collaboration: Work directly with product design team during iterative development cycles
- Software Development: Develop and maintain scripts and workflows to automate FEA processes.
We would love to have You on our team if you have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on solid mechanics.
- 8+ years of experience as an FEA Engineer in consumer electronics, wearable devices, or a related industry.
- Proficiency in using FEA software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar.
- Strong understanding of solid mechanics principles, including stress, strain, elasticity, and plasticity.
- Experience with linear and non-linear static and dynamic and multiphysical analysis.
- Experience with model validation and correlation with test data.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently
Nice to have:
- Experience with FEA simulation of wearable devices or small, complex electronic products.
- Experience with transient thermal analyses to optimize thermal performance and manage heat dissipation.
- Deep knowledge of material properties and failure criteria.
- Experience with optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC).
