We specialise in the design and manufacture of ground-breaking renewable-energy technology products.
As the Managing Director (GB), you will hold overall responsibility for leading and managing the GB business, reporting directly to the Group Commercial Director. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can balance driving business sales growth with operational efficiency. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, marketing, and financial performance, while aligning the GB business with myenergi’ s global vision. The MD will provide leadership and direction to a team of senior managers across various sales channels to deliver business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement the overall business strategy for myenergi GB in line with the group’s global goals.
• Lead the GB business in identifying growth opportunities, entering new channels, and strengthening our market position in the renewable energy sector.
• Work closely with the Group Commercial Director to align the GB strategy with myenergi’ s global mission and values.
Sales and Market Expansion:
• Oversee and drive sales performance across all channels, including partner channels, wholesale and distribution, and direct-to-consumer (D2C), working closely with the sales team to set and achieve ambitious revenue targets.
• Identify new opportunities to expand market presence through strong pipeline management, key account management and development and analysis of the market to ensure myenergi retains price and product positioning vs competitors
• Ensure the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for existing and new products.
Operational Excellence:
• Ensure the operational performance of myenergi GB meets the highest standards, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and scalability.
• Work with operations to oversee supply chain management, ensuring accurate sales forecasting to deliver smooth logistics and stock availability to meet market demand.
• Implement continuous improvement processes across operations, driving cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Financial Management:
• Take ownership of the GB P&L, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
• Set and manage financial targets, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring myenergi GB remains financially strong.
• Provide regular reports on business performance, including weekly sales forecasting and sales metrics to the Group Commercial Director and board.
• Leadership and People Development:
• Lead, inspire, and develop the GB management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
• Ensure effective succession planning and talent development strategies are in place to build a strong leadership pipeline.
• Champion a positive organizational culture that aligns with myenergi’ s values of sustainability, customer focus, and innovation.
Stakeholder Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including government bodies, industry partners, and customers.
• Represent myenergi GB at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements, acting as the face of the business in the GB market.
• Collaborate closely with the global leadership team to ensure the GB business is aligned with broader corporate goals.
• Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure myenergi GB complies with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Manage risks to the business, including financial, operational, and reputational risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven track record as a Managing Director, General Manager, or senior business leader within the renewable energy, technology, or related sectors.
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with experience driving business growth in competitive markets.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, delivering multi-channel sales growth and managing P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies, balancing long-term vision with short-term objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Strong understanding of the GB energy market, regulatory environment, and renewable energy technologies.
- Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with senior leadership, boards, and external partners.
- Passion for sustainability and a genuine interest in driving the transition to renewable energy.
