Process & Tool Ownership: You develop, maintain, and continuously improve cost estimation models, databases, and tools to enhance accuracy, standardization, and benchmarking. This includes establishing and maintaining project cost databases to track historical costs, support benchmarking against TIC estimates, and contribute to project close-out reports.
Project Cost Estimation: You deliver cost estimates for DAC Plant Projects across all classes and project lifecycle stages (FEL-1/2/3 and Execution), incorporating input from internal stakeholders, EPCs, and contractors.
Standardization & Reusability: You prepare cost estimates using standardized processes and reporting structures, enabling comparison with past and future estimates.
Assumptions & Accuracy: You ensure cost estimates are based on precise, reasonable assumptions while maintaining a balance between realism and challenge.
Industry-Specific Estimating Tools: You develop tailored estimating processes and tools for the direct air capture industry, covering both balance of plant equipment and DAC machines.
Subject Matter Expertise: You act as a recognized expert in cost estimation, providing guidance across departments, including procurement, for bid assessments and other estimation needs.
Educational Background: You hold an engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Project Management & Cost Estimation Expertise: You bring over 10 years of experience in project management and cost estimation.
EPC Experience: You have a strong background in working within EPC environments and managing EPC contractors.
Industry Experience: You have worked on at least one project in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, or renewables industries as an Owner or Owner's representative, covering all post-DBM phases (FEED, Detailed Design, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up).
Major Capital Projects Exposure: You have experience in major capital projects valued at over 500 million USD.
Cost Estimation Techniques & Tools: You are proficient in advanced cost estimation methodologies and tools beyond Excel, such as Aspen Capital Cost Estimator or Cleopatra.
Best Practices & Business Processes: You are well-versed in the latest business processes and best practices used in major projects.
Communication & Leadership: You possess excellent communication, presentation, organizational leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Process & Structure Orientation: You have a strong affinity for structured processes, tools, and frameworks.
HSE Commitment: You demonstrate a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) mindset.
Willingness to Travel: You are open to traveling up to 30% as part of your role.

Salary: At Climeworks, salary ranges are assigned to a job based on the level of seniority and the location specific market median of similar jobs according to external benchmark surveys. Individual compensation depends on your skills, experience, and the value you bring to the team.

This position is based in Austin, Texas and we ask that you work onsite at least three days per week.
